The South Dakota State Fair Foundation is proud to announce the SoDak National Junior Rodeo, held the second weekend in October, at the DEX on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron, SD. Events like this exemplify our commitment to fostering youth opportunities, promoting agriculture, and building a legacy of community and competition at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.

12 years old & under: Free

Noon Performance - Round 1 Timed Event events only

Saturday, October 10
9 am Performance - Round 2 Timed Event events only
6 pm Performance - Round 1 Rough Stock Only

Sunday, October 11 - Short Go Performance

Entry Info

• Entries Open - August 3
  • September 21 is the last day to pay by check and avoid the credit card processing fee.
• Entries Close - September 21
  • $25 late fee: Sept 22 – Oct 2
• NHSRA membership must be complete by check in.
• All Timed Events are $250 entry fee.
• All Rough Stock Events are $300 entry fee.

Incentives

• Junior High Incentives - Contestants in grade 5th - 8th of the current year are automatically entered in a Jr High Incentive.
• 300 Plus Incentives - Contestants that travel over 300 miles (calculated by the shortest path from you home address to the DEX) will automatically be entered into the 300 Plus sidepot for a chance to win an extra $300 in each event and $500 in the average.
  
• Added Money
  • Each event will start with $1,000 added money .
  • For every additional 35 entries in each event, an additional $1,000 will be added to the pot.

Events

• All events open to all contestants that have a current NHSRA membership.
  • There are no age divisions. However, contestants in grade 5th - 8th of the current year are automatically entered in a Jr High Incentive.
• Each contestant is allowed to enter each event no more than 2 times per event.
