The State Fair is currently hiring for the following:
SD State Fair EMT Superintendent
Seasonal employment with minimal hours until the State Fair. Hours increase in August through the fair. $21.21/hr. Manage and oversee emergency medical services during the SD State Fair. Duties include:
- Hire and schedule EMT staff in advance of the fair; provide oversight of staff during the fair
- Manage first aid stations and emergency response logistics
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Respond to incidents and maintain detailed reports
- Coordinate with local EMS, fire, and law enforcement when necessary
What We’re Looking For:
- EMT with current South Dakota certification and National Registry status (Advanced or Paramedic preferred)
- 3+ years of EMS experience, with supervisory experience preferred
- Strong decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment

Seasonal positions - now hiring for 2026 State Fair
Put some extra cash in your pocket! Be a part of a time-honored tradition and be instrumental in the success of the annual State Fair. The SD State Fair hires for special events and fair week; position availability varies! Positions are open in the following areas: Maintenance, gate admission, beer garden, tap haus, wine pavilion, trolley, grandstand, security, and cattle crossing guard. Hours vary, pay rate varies.
