Help us decorate the fairgrounds by entering the America250 Trash To Treasure Contest!
Those interested can pick up garbage cans from the South Dakota State Fair. All decorations must be paint based using latex paint and exterior sealant to extend the life of the painting, and no paper or 3D art will be allowed. Cans must be primed and sealed. All entries must be painted in red, white, and blue, or other patriotic themes to help celebrate the kickoff of America’s 250th celebration.
Entries can be made as a group or individual project, and it is free to enter.
All entry forms must be turned in and garbage cans picked up before August 9, 2025.
All garbage cans must be returned by August 16.
The 1st place winner will receive $100 cash, 2nd place will receive $50 cash, and 3rd place will receive $25 cash.
The garbage cans will be on display at the South Dakota State Fair and winners will be announced at the State Fair on August 29.
