John Scalia is native of Louisiana, and has been performing shows all over the continental US ,and then some, since 1998. As the full 5 ( sometimes 6) piece powerhouse band, they have performed for US Troops in Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Dubai, and many other "undisclosed" locations for troops on combat front lines. Along that 27 year timeline, they earned a solid reputation for putting the audience first. "No Un-Shaken Booty Left Behind" has been their proud mission statement.

The Roosevelt in New Orleans La, The White Water Festival in Canon City CO, The Loud American in Sturgis SD, Isla Grand Beach Resort in South Padre Island TX, Sun City MusicFest in Las Vegas NV, The Bottleneck Blues Saloon in Vicksburg MS are just a few of the many places John Scalia and the Dirty Word has performed and made valuable memories.

They are proud and stoked to bring their Minneapolis based show back to to South Dakota State Fair this year for the 6th time.
