Dolly Venables

Dolly Venables was raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota before relocating to the eastern part of the state in 1979, where she currently resides with her husband Gary.
Dolly became a best-selling author with her debut book, This Thing Called Kindergarten, which earned the #1 New Release spot in several categories. In September 2024, the book was also featured on the Jumbotron in New York City ~ a once-in-a-lifetime experience Dolly will always remember.
This book was dedicated to a remarkable kindergarten teacher, Diane Swisher, who Dolly had the opportunity to work with for several years. Diane changed little people's lives every day and helped them to realize that kindergarten would be an unbelievable year in their life ~ one they would never forget.
Dolly's second children's book, Pester Lester the Mischievous Moose, also became a Bestseller earning #1 New Release in Children's Books on Bullies, Children's Books on Self-Esteem & Self-Respect, and Children's Books on Emotions & Feelings. This book is dedicated to Dolly's father whom she lovingly referred to as "Pester Lester!"
Pester Lester isn't a mean moose, he just enjoys playing tricks on his friends. But when his mischievous behavior starts to get out of hand, his friends decide it's time to put a stop to it. Dolly is currently working on a non-fiction book entitled, Cancer: A Journey, Not an Event where she shares her personal journey with breast cancer. Her hope is that this book will help others to heal as well as herself.
