Women's Building

Besides all of the static exhibits and vendors that call the Women's Building home during the State Fair, a full-sized kitchen and auditorium are also located in the building!

*There will be no daily programming in the Women's Building during the 2020 State Fair.

BERT STINER DOMESTIC ENGINEER AWARD:

The Domestic Engineer Award has been renamed the Bert Stiner Domestic Engineer Award in memory of Bert Stiner.  Bert's family wanted to do something in honor of their wife and mother at the South Dakota State Fair, Women's Building.  This award depicts the many, many years of her participation in the Women's Building as well as many community service organizations, church, and many other activities.

This award is the highest award one can receive as an exhibitor in the Women's Building.  The Stiner Family is sponsoring this award and will continue to do so for many years to come.  They have donated a perpetual plaque for this award that will list each year's winner by name.  You will be able to see this plaque as you enter the Women's Building on the east wall.

Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present. The South Dakota State Fair cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your visit.

We will implement enhanced health and safety measures for our guests and staff members during the 2020 South Dakota State Fair.

COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. The CDC and State of South Dakota advise those who are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, including those over age 60 and those suffering from underlying medical conditions to evaluate their own risk in determining whether to attend the State Fair. People who show no symptoms can spread Coronavirus if they are infected, and any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of infection. By visiting the South Dakota State Fairgrounds, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
