The Midway Roadhouse is the fair’s newest entertainment venue. By day, the Midway Roadhouse serves as an area for fairgoers to sit down and enjoy the fair, whether it’s the company, fair food or entertainment. During the day fairgoers can enjoy everything from acoustic musicians to jugglers. By night, it transforms into an outdoor concert area, providing a fun beer garden atmosphere, with bands performing Friday-Sunday.
The Wild Flowers (The Judds of South Dakota!) are a Mother and Daughter trio bringing you a wide variety of musical entertainment. They sing everything from Country to Christian. The Mother, Jodi Jensen has been singing semi-professionally and competitively since the age of 15 and has traveled all over the United States singing in different bands and performance venues while serving 18 years in the Military. Jodi has five children, three grand children and is married to Daniel Jensen of Huron. The oldest Daughter is Ashli Anna Hurley of Willmar Minnesota. Ashli graduated from Huron high school in 2007. She has two children Ahmara and Ahnalyn. She is married to Kevin Hurly of Willmar. She has been singing competitively since high school and performing at the South Dakota State Fair with the Wild Flowers for over 6 years. The youngest daughter is Elizabeth Ryland of Huron. Elizabeth has been singing competitively and at many benefits in the community for over 6 years. Her first time on stage was at the age 14 right here at the South Dakota state fair performing in the Dakota Star, as well as performing here at the state fair with the Wild Flowers each year since! We all enjoy singing in the community throughout the year and coming to the State fair to entertain and bring smiles to the faces of many fair goers each year. We do a wide variety of music so each day is different and new!

SD State Fair Karaoke Rendezvous
The State Fair is partnering up with Rem Dog Song Entertainment again to bring the karaoke contest back to the fair. Two qualifying competitions will be held at the State Fair on Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31. Prelim competition winners get $100-1st place, $75-2nd place and $50-3rd place.
The qualifiers will be invited to participate in the finals on Saturday, September 1.
The winner takes home $500, 2nd place finalist receives $300, and the 3rd place finalist takes home $200.
Competition begins at 5 pm nightly.

TEEM is Eric Meek and Eric Tompkins, an acoustic duo formed in the bars and basement od Sioux City, Iowa. Eric and Eric met at the University of South Dakota and took a ten-year hiatus from entertaining at house parties to pursue their awesome career choices. As chance would have it, they reunited in 2016 and have been taking bars, beaches, and beer gardens by storm in the Sioux City regional area with their wide selection of original and cover songs that cross all genres of music. They even have a shot named in their honor "TEEM bomb.” If you like day drinking paired with good times these are your guys.

The band sets itself apart from other regional acts with its dedication to quality and professionalism. We have full production that enables us to do large and small venues. Our 25,000 watt P/A system and light show can accommodate street dances, fairs,
downtown concerts, outdoor events, weddings and large indoor venues. Members include Trent Johnson, John Pettigrew, Trent Aman, Kaila Dakota and Brian Michael. Kaila is from Aurora, SD and is now based out of Nashville as a singer songwriter. Brian is a singer, songwriter

Dayna Jones is a singer/songwriter from Emery, SD and has been performing in and around the states of SD, MN, IA and TN for the past 12 years. She is currently the lead vocalist for her band, Jones & Company. Dayna and the band have opened for rock band Theory of a Deadman, country star Lauren Alaina, and Grammy nominated Mindi Abair & the Boneshakers. She even sang once with country superstar Martina McBride. Dayna is a powerful vocalist who can sing just about anything, heck, she even raps sometimes. She isn't tied to one genre and that's what audiences love about her. She is also the 2018 Dakota Star Winner.

After a few years on his own, Weston Frank was encouraged by many fans and venue owners to bring back the band, for bigger events. Comprised of long time friends, band mates from pervious projects, and even a few members from "rival" groups, Weston has hand picked the band that is not only the best country group in the area, but also the most fun. You'll hear anything from Waylon Jennings to Eric Church, and even a handful of Weston's own songs!

Black Water Band
The Black Water Band was established in 2003 with one purpose in mind, to bring a high energy live show! We play your favorite rock, country, and pop songs from the 1980’s through today’s current hits.
They can be found on any given weekend performing at clubs, street dances, festivals, and even opening up for national acts.
The Black Water Band is a four-piece band with Kimberly Meyer on lead vocals, keyboards, and guitar, Jason Haven on vocals and lead guitar, Mike Schmitt on vocals and bass, and Tony Hulst on the drums.
