Camping

The State Fairgrounds hosts the largest campground in the state, with over 1250 sites. All campsites on the grounds have electricity. There are limited sewer and water hook-ups. Showers and restrooms are located in all campgrounds.

State Fair Camping

Self-contained and tent nightly camping is available at Gate 13 for $20.00 per night. Reservations are not needed for this. Payment for your stay will be taken upon your arrival at Gate 13.

If you camped with us at the 2011 State Fair, you will receive a reservation form for the 2012 State Fair in January.

If you wish to camp at the 2012 State Fair and didn’t camp with us in 2011, please read the information below for your options.

Once again this year for $142.00 (includes 4 gate admission wristbands), we will be offering a full week of off grounds, self contained (need generator or camper battery) or tent camping, at our Gate H area, which is across the street from the 4-H Gate 8. This area has no shower/restroom on site; you would use the Pasque Park shower/restroom. Also, we are offering the same accommodations at Gate 13 which is located across the street from the west side of the race track (where the stock trailers are parked) EXCEPT there is a shower/restroom facility on site, same $142.00 rate.

Although these sites are located off of the main fairgrounds, there are many benefits to camping in Gate H or 13. If you reserve at one of these locations, you are then in the data base and will receive a camping application in January 2013, and can request to move on grounds, should there be a site to fit your camper in 2013. We have had great response to these areas as people think the sites are very spacious and much quieter than the campsites on the main grounds.

If you know that you would like one of the above mentioned self contained spots please contact me after January 18, 2012. I will take your information over the phone and you can pay then with your credit card, or I will hold your information for (1) week awaiting your check.

The fact that we are so full from year to year with a waiting list of campers proves that the fair is growing and families like yourself are interested in staying with us to create your own “memories.” We sincerely want to help as many families as possible come to the fair for the week!!

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to Shelley Noonan in the State Fair Office.
